WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- It's called SciFest, and this is the second year the Cape Fear Museum in Wilmington has held the event. Folks visited a variety of hands-on activity stations, interacted with local scientists and watched some exciting demonstrations.
“You think about in school, parents don't often times get to see what their kids are doing or see what they learn,” said Jameson McDermott, a museum educator. “Here they get to learn with their kids, explore things together and see what their kids know. So, it's exciting for families.”
Families got to do activities like creating chemical reactions, build and launch paper rockets and participate in a paper plane derby.
