MANNS HARBOR, NC (NEWS RELEASE) — The NC Department of Transportation’s Ferry Division will run an abbreviated schedule on its Southport-Fort Fisher route Friday to exchange vessels.

A crew will take the Motor Vessel Southport to the state’s shipyard in Manns Harbor for routine maintenance, while another crew delivers the MV Neuse from Cherry Branch operations for Southport’s use in the interim. The normal schedule will resume Saturday morning.

Friday’s schedule will be:

Departing from Southport at 5:30 a.m., 7, 8:30, 10, 12:15 p.m., 1:45, 3:15 and 4:45; and
Departing from Fort Fisher at 6:15 a.m., 7:45, 9:15, 10:45, 1 p.m., 2:30, 4 and 5:30.
