SHALLOTTE, NC (WWAY) — The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office placed West Brunswick High School on lockdown for a brief time early this morning. A school district spokeswoman says deputies did a security sweep based on a Facebook posting about a threat at the school.

There was never a threat to West Brunswick. The school that was actually targeted is in Harnett County. But I am glad that law enforcement checked everything out and it is always better to be safe than sorry.
