WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington Police Department is asking for help finding a man whose family has not seen or heard from him for three weeks.

Relatives say they fear for the safety of Rafael Romero, 21. Romero did not take money or extra clothing with him when he left his home on the evening of October 18. He knows very few people in this area, and no one has seen him in recent days.

Investigators say although Romero has been looking for work, he was not employed when he disappeared. Family members say he has been despondent and has been seeking medical treatment.

Anyone who has information about Rafael Romero is asked to call the Wilmington Police Department at (910) 343-3600 and leave a message for Det. Donelson. Information may be submitted anonymously through Text-A-Tip. Enter Tip708 and the message, and send to CRIMES (274637).
