COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — It may be more than a week since Election Day, but the election process is not over yet. In Columbus County, there’s still some double-checking to be done for mayor in Bolton.

Columbus County Elections Director Carla Strickland says the Board of Elections will do a discretionary recount of the votes for mayor on the Bolton precinct ballots. The recount is Monday at 5 p.m. at the Board of Elections office. Strickland says absentee and One-Stop Voting ballots will not be recounted, as there is only a question about the precinct ballots.

The unofficial tally shows Frank A. Wilson with 121 votes in the race, which tops Gary Graham’s 111. Of the 232 votes in the election, 217 were cast at the precinct on Election Day. Wilson got 120 of those votes to 97 for Graham.
