Electric company adding 41 jobs in Marion

MARION, NC (AP) — A company that makes roller bearings says it will expand its plant in Marion, adding 41 jobs.

Baldor Electric Co. says it will invest nearly $18 million over the next three years to expand the McDowell County plant.

The company already has about 750 employees at plants in Marion, Weaverville and Kings Mountain.

The average annual salary is expected to be about $35,000.

The company also makes industrial electric motors and generators.
