RED SPRINGS, NC (AP) — Robeson County sheriff’s deputies say a Thanksgiving argument between roommates left one man dead and another in jail.

Sheriff’s Maj. Howard Branch says 20-year-old Derwin Wade Blevins of Red Springs is charged with first-degree murder and firing a gun in an occupied home.

Thirty-year-old Shawn Lambert of Red Springs was shot and killed Thanksgiving night.

Branch says Lambert was dating Blevins’ sister and all three of them lived in the same house.

The sheriff’s department says the men were arguing about money and began fighting. Branch says Lambert was shot once in the chest with a .22-caliber rifle.

Branch says Blevins left the scene but later turned himself in to deputies.

It wasn’t clear if he has a lawyer.
