Trooper zaps trainee in buttocks

RALEIGH, NC (NEWS AND OBSERVER) -- Ouch! A State Highway Patrol training officer horsing around at the magistrates office in the Wake County Jail last month accidentally stunned a trainee in the buttock with a Taser.

It happened in the early morning hours of Nov. 27, when the training officer pulled the trigger of his Taser without a cartridge loaded. That makes a loud popping noise, but doesn’t fire the weapon.

Unfortunately, the trainee trooper’s startled reaction was to jump backward into the Taser, which stunned him. The trainee wasn’t injured, according to a spokesman with the N.C. Department of Crime Control and Public Safety.

Zap in the buttocks

This story reminds me of the movie super troopers.

He should apply in Leland. He's just what they're looking for. He can take Foss' spot.

Good, honest, officers, like Boost, Foss, and Lewis, seem to get kneecapped. While those who bully others, punching and putting welts on them, are A-OK, as long as they stay in the click.

He was a State Patrolman, not a rent-a-cop.

Most city police officers are fallouts from the State Patrolmen, then the Sheriffs dept where they couldn't make the grade. Next step down from a ctiy policeman is the "rent-a-cop". I think Lelend got the rejects from the rent-a-cop applicants.

It is a shame that our "prestigious State Patrol officers" keep smearing themselves with corruption and stupid, child-like behavior as displayed here.

Professionalisn is a difficult attribute to find these days...

Speaking of Leland PD

As people joke about things this is how bad its gotten. in past couple nights there was a minor wreck on Hwy 17 near Walmart.. One lane blocked ended up with 4 LPD officers on the scene 1 of which was actually doing his job it appears. Leland Fire had a FF directing traffic and the other 3 blind mice were standing around just talking to each other doing nothing.. (I noticed in my travels going north another officer had a traffic stop in progress) which means 5 of the officers in LPD were at the far end of the towns jurisdiction leaving maybe 1 officer available in case of an emergency in the rest of the town limits, not exactly safe. (Not knowing how many they have on a given shift I cant say for sure as Im sure it depends) but still seems to me that having nearly all the towns officers down in one area is a recipe for disaster and quick hitting criminals to take advantage of.. (BTW have they had any luck catching the bank robber of the CU down near Walmart?? you'd think with all the cops time spent down there they woulda caught him red-handed).

I love when heavily armed

I love when heavily armed knuckleheads horse around. To serve and protect. Carry on.
