KURE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — While the elves prepare Rudolph and friends for their round-the-world journey, Santa snuck into the Fort Fisher Aquarium for a quick swim with some marine friends.

Wearing his red and white suit over his SCUBA gear, Santa had a great time diving with rays, eels and sharks in the 205,000-gallon saltwater tank.

The children watching were amazed that santa could swim with fish and sharks and not be harmed because of his bright red suit.

“We weren’t sure about that, so we did a couple of test dives in here to make sure the fish were comfortable with Santa, and just like the little kids, the fish love to see Santa,” the jolly ol’ elf said.

If you missed today’s dive, Santa will dive again tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Then, of course, he’ll head back to the North Pole to load up his sleigh.
