OAK ISLAND, NC (WWAY) — The Cape Fear Regional Jetport in Oak Island was awarded $3.65 million in federal funds this week.

The money will be used to construct a full parallel taxiway along the newly extended runway.

The 5,500-foot taxiway will improve airplane traffic flow at the airport by providing a dedicated access to the runway

our national and state budgets are in turmoil; cuts being made across every budgeted program out there; yet somehow they find over $3.5 million to expand the Oak Island Jetport.

You have got to be kidding.

Who in Congress had the nerve to propose such a funding? I forgot, this is an election year.

Well at least it will construct something and put some people to work.

But really, I have been out there. Where is the big industrial base which would use a jetport for its corporate jets?

It was big check Mike behind this pork fund. The democrat mindset is we have to make sure to spend every dime we can get our hands on. And then raise taxes to get more dimes.
