WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — An off-duty Wilmington Police officer allegedly assaulted by two men in a bar will have to wait to see what will happen with his accused attackers.

Robert Bogen and Mark Ingham had their case continued today until March 14. They are accused of assault and conspiracy.

The november incident was caught on camera. The surveillance footage shows Sgt. Curt Stansbury being punched and knocked to the ground.

The prosecutor in the case said the defense needed more time to prepare.

    Why is this news? This thing happens everyday in Wilmington. Does the reporter know one of these guys or something? What a waste of time.

    I don’t know Sgt. Stansbury personaly but he did come to a hit and run accident when he was K-9. He was very professional and an asset to the uniform. The next time was during Azalae Fest. a guy was takin away for a DWI and he had a dog in the car. Once again the Sgt.was very professional and waited until someone from the family came to take the dog so it didn’t have to go the animal control..

    That is someone you want in our area helping. It’s the was it should be.
