BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A judge has postponed a Brunswick County Commission hearing scheduled for Tuesday to see if there’s cause to remove Commissioner Charles Warren from the DSS Board.

Warren filed the request yesterday asking for the delay. In the motion, Warren alleged that DSS Board member Pat Sykes and Brunswick County resident Ginny Quaglia have on multiple occasions disrupted DSS Board meetings. Warren alleges Quaglia’s disruptions are because of “her political opposition” to him.

The filing also accuses Sykes, Quaglia and Brunswick Beacon reporter Carolina Curran of “being opposed to Charles Warren and have sought or desired his removal from his positions with Brunswick County government for political reasons.”

The motion also gives Warren’s version of what happened at the December 13 DSS Board meeting, where Warren threw out Sykes and Curran for being disruptive. It also says that on December 19 the County Commission “voted to hold an illegal and improper hearing to determine if (Warren) should be removed from his appointed position as Member of the DSS Board due to his removal of Sykes and Curran from the… DSS Board meeting.”

Warren has declined to comment on the injunction. Instead he referred questions to his lawyer.

It really makes you wonder why Mr. Warren is doing all this. What makes him think he has more power than the entire board of commissioners?

Because he’s a racist holier-than-thou copy of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, who raises the race card anytime someone sneezes in his direction.

If you’ve seem him in action, you know he’s a total incompetent and shouldn’t be making decisions for the citizens of Brunswick County.

I don’t see how anything could be more disruptive than ejecting a fellow board member and reporter from a meeting. So it’s kind of a case of the pot calling the kettle black.

An elected official should have enough intelligence and integrity to be able to compromise with someone being difficult.

Warren apparantly has anger issues, which are impeding him from doing his job as an elected official.

It’s time to vote this guy out of office. He doesn’t play well with others at all and that’s critical to him being able to serve the citizens of Brunswick County effectively.
