READ MORE:

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) -- A Brunswick County student has been suspended and could face criminal charges after allegedly messing with cafeteria food.

Custodial staff reported finding BBs in vegetable soup today at South Brunswick Middle School, according to Brunswick County Schools spokeswoman Jessica Swencki. In a news release, Swencki said the soup, served during the last lunch period of the day, was immediately pulled from the serving line as well as from students' plates.

The student believed to be responsible for this action has been suspended and referred to law enforcement. No students or staff have reported any illness or injury, according to the district.

bbs in soup

well ,i feel he should be punished severely...what if the kids got lead poisoning from that and got very sick..i think it totaling insane for a kid to try to bring harm to his fellow classmates and even his friends...thank god i dont have friends like that but either way he is way over due punishment for that...WHATS HE GOING TO TRY NEXT...shooting

BB's aren't made out of lead...

...it's harmless copper and aluminum.

This incident reminds me of an old joke about a bunch of kids that ate BB's, one of them later shot the family dog...

So you would be ok?

So if somebody slipped some in your food you wouldn't mind because they are made out of "harmless copper and aluminum?" But then again I'm betting you don't have any teeth you could chip anyway.

I can understand some

I can understand some consequences, but criminal charges? Get real. What kind of nuts are running our education system?

what nuts you ask?

What nuts you ask? The nuts that are keeping the the other children safe from these undisciplined kifs we try to be nice and call youngsters instrad of what they need to be called. BBs today rat poison tomorrow. What will your pathetic excuss be for the brat then? Yes I applaud criminal charges. We as a grown up society have to start getting a handle on these out of control kids some how. Society has taken away the teachers, principals and other athourty figures right to disipline these trouble makers and look at whats happened to our schools and society in general. Give that back... parents stop veing scared of the children... woop that butt... it will not kill you to do your job. And yes when it dont work. ..love them enough to make them pay by criminal charges. Thats whats wrong woth these bad behinded kids as it is. Parents and adults have given children all thw rights. .. all I have to say is wimps!!!!! Take it back and teach them right from wrong or stiff conciquences. Its your job as adults. Stop making excuses for the brats and then being shocked when they rob an elderly.... kill someone.... shoot up a school.... and the list goes on. Sad sad and pathetic society we live in. We have the power to change it but most are to darn lazy.

Yes

Yes criminal charges, damage to another childs teeth, and who knows where the BB's had been at and what it might have done to someones digestive tract. The little Bast@rd needs to be charged and given a harsh sentence. Maybe it would be different if parents did their jobs at home, but they don't. This means law enforcement gets involved and they get arrested. If you had children and they were hurt by some jack@ss like this you might feel different. What he does next might be worse. He might just shoot up the school, because he got away with it the first time.

yummmmmm

sounds crunchy

Restitution?

Is the student (or the student's family) going to be responsible for restitution? The taxpayers deserve to be compensated for the loss of the soup, the labor involved in preparing it, replacement of the soup, labor to prepoare the replacement, etc., etc.

Middle School Student

It's too bad this kid can't get an a$$ beating! It's certainly warranted.

A$$ Beating

Nah - the parents might sue. Also the kid probably was tortured as a baby and it's not his fault. What a society.
