ABC News

Newt Gingrich lacks the moral character to serve as President, his second ex-wife Marianne told ABC News, saying his campaign positions on the sanctity of marriage and the importance of family values do not square with what she saw during their 18 years of marriage.

In her first television interview since the 1999 divorce, to be broadcast tonight on Nightline, Marianne Gingrich, a self-described conservative Republican, said she is coming forward now so voters can know what she knows about Gingrich.

In her most provocative comments, the ex-Mrs. Gingrich said Newt sought an “open marriage” arrangement so he could have a mistress and a wife.

OBVIOUSLY have NOT been paying attention…when Democrats get caught doing something like oh…adultery..they rally around them and protect them..maybe send them to rehab for their “problem”. When a Republican does the SAME THING…HOLY COW…first their OWN PARTY calls for their resignation, PLUS the Democrats start foaming at the mouth…

  • Guest6858 says:

Ron Paul reminds me of that cult leader back in the 1980’s that had all of his followers commit suicide and they were covered with purple shrouds all lying on bunk beds, remember?

  • John says:

And by the 04′ election I meant to clarify Obama as the incumbent wining over either Romney or Newt with a similar margin of victory as President Bush did against John Kerry.

  • John says:

If the Republican Party would wake up they would see there only hope of getting a nominee into the oval office this year is to nominate Ron Paul… I will tell you why…

Mitt Romney will get blasted and out debated all night long against President Obama. Mitt has hid his money is tax shelters for years, and used super rich loopholes to his advantage… loopholes politicians put in place to protect there wealth, and have the middel class pick up the tab. Romney is not leading by example, and furthermore is as crooked as Newt as when Romney was Gov. of Mass. he targeted corporations that hid money in tax shelters to deal with foreign investors without having to pay a tax to the US.

Newt Gingrich doesn’t stand a chance mainly on personal character flaws. He lead the congress in 1995 to impeach then President Clinton for infidelity while he was engaged in a affair. He cut and run when his second wife developed cancer… President Obama will paint him as a man who runs away when situations get tough… needless to say his remarks about kids cleaning toilets…

Ron Paul at this moment is neck and neck in the national polls with Romney and President Obama. he has a thirty year track record of not lying about where he stands on whatever issue. He believes in the constitution and the principles in which this country was founded…

If the Republican Party Nominates anyone but Ron Paul they will be competing against his grassroots movement in November…. He will take votes from both Republicans and Democrats. He will most certainly win the independent vote. If the Republican Party was smart they would capitalize on the fact the have someone running in their primaries who can garner votes from all parties, and in November win the election. If Newt or Romney get the nomination the Republican Party will see results similar to what Bush did to Kerry in 04′.

This “revelation” is presented by liberal ABC news and Diane Sawyer. Need I say more?

  • iaintdumb says:

I can barely lift a finger to comment about politics these days, but these bitter, scorned women are something to be reckoned with. Just think, all of that beautiful warm fuzzy love, elation, bliss and adoration can change to hate and disdain in the blink of an eye if someone else decides they’re no longer happy with another person. Human are so complex and ignorant. Love is a cruel trick played on humans by nature to ensure the continuation of our species.

What goes on in someone’s home and their family is their business. Not mine.

  • Guest3130 says:

I call BS on all of these posters – – if it had been a Democrat (or God forbid, our current President) instead of the Lewd Newt, you all would be having a HAYDAY, decrying their loose moral values – but since it’s a Repub, it’s OK.

    You all crack me up!

  • John says:

Some of you say that if you don’t vote for Newt because of this bad press is an idiot … well your the pot calling the kettle black. A tiger can’t change it’s stripes, and in 1995 while he was leading the charge as speaker of the house to have Bill Clinton impeached for infidelity he was engaging in the same act while married. On principle alone this man should never rest his buns behind the desk in the oval office. He is a Hypocrite, and a desperate man who will do anything to be President. Forrest Gump’s doctor couldn’t straighten him out… he is as crooked as any in DC…

  • Guest1022 says:

That is not the charge I remember. I thought President Clinton was impeeched for lying under oath about an affair.

  • guesty says:

From John: “He lead the congress in 1995 to impeach then President Clinton for infidelity while he was engaged in a affair.”

No, Clinton was impeached for perjury and obstruction of justice. He lied about the affair when he was caught.

  • fgnfgtn says:

So whats that say about the people of Texas who have elected him to congress for almost 25 years? Stop buying into propaganda, there’s a reason why this man is overlooked and ignored by every media outlet in the United States…..

  • sdht says:

Dozens upon dozens of high ranking conservatives have voiced their opinion of the lack of morality and class shown by Gingrich over the years. Even Glen Beck said he was the only Republican candidate he couldn’t vote for.

    Need I say more?

  • Guestifer says:

This woman looks like she has said and done anything for money anyway…

  • Guest 2 says:

I will vote for ANYONE that can beat Obama no matter who they are or what they have done. Can we get any worse than who we have now? I think not, unless it’s Al Gore or Kerry.

  • guesty says:

From John: “A tiger can’t change it’s stripes, and in 1995 while he was leading the charge as speaker of the house to have Bill Clinton impeached for infidelity he was engaging in the same act while married.”

No, Clinton was impeached for perjury and obstruction of justice. He lied about the affair when he was caught.

Get it right or just be quiet because now you just look silly.

  • dittos says:

I’m from the Chesterfield County area in South Carolina. I will be voting Newt in the primary. Nuff said!

  • Ken says:

I guess it’s safe to say he wanted to have his cake and eat it too. This man, like many other men, has no morals. Problem is it doesn’t matter to most Americans today for they no longer have the morals we as a people and nation should still have and cling to.

  • Guest6858 says:

I’m with Newt on this one. I’m a female and I know the story because she (the ex) made money off of it in 1995. And, with respect to your comment, I agree that you cannot expect anyone to have the morals of old these days. Look what people voted in 3.5 years ago!

  • Guest1165 says:

Is anyone surprised? Newt Gingrich, Henry Hyde, do I need to keep on?
I hate it when people try to hide behind religion. That was then; this is now BS just doesn’t cut it. If you were a sleazeball 20 years ago, the chances are you still are one.

  • Guest7969 says:

SO I guess the same could be said of Clinton and Kennedy…and well..pretty much EVERY politician in DC…they just haven’t gotten caught!

  • Guest992234 says:

If your reasoning is correct, then one must conclude the same thing about Obama. I mean look at all his terrorist buddies he hung around with in Chicago, not to mention his hate-filled Pastor.

  • Guest6858 says:

What do you THINK an ex-wife is going to say? Especially if she is being offered financial opportunities to say something? Geez! No-brainer here.

  • Guest1165 says:

What are you doing, push polls? Where does it say she was offered money?

  • Brian says:

It’s been a long time since any politicians have had moral character. Next.

  • Guest7969 says:

ANYBODY who allows this interview to sway their vote…is an idiot! I mean..ANYBODY who has been thru a divorce knows why…what do people THINK she’s gonna say and feel about her divorce?!

IRRELEVANT information in respect to the election!

  • John says:

Well it really doesn’t mean anything that she is bitter… the truth is he cheated while she was sick. That sort of mentality doesn’t go away… Let me ask you something… When the weight of the world comes down on him as President do you think he can handle the situation or will he run away from responsibility?

  • Guest461 says:

She’s obviously not a “stick to ‘em anyway” kinda gal like Hilliary Clinton and can’t hang in there with a lying cheater as Hilliary did, so now she gets revenge and trashes her ex in public after all of these years. The bitterness of loss shows in those saggy bags under her eyes, the scorn is vivid in those thin lips, the hatred obvious in her futile attempt to crush. At least she makes it sound like Ol’ Newt was open and honest about “open marriage” and didn’t try to hide it or lie about it like Slick Willie Clinton.

    Oh well…The Kennedys…The Clintons…the Swarzeneggers..the Kennedys…the Clintons. Now it’s the Gengrichs…’magine that?

  • Guester says:

Must be a curse to be so darned attractive. How can women resist him.

  • Mike T says:

Newt has followed the 999 plan long before Herman

  • Guest228 says:

This is the same man that has been married three times, cheated on two wives, led a national impeachment campaign against President Clinton because Clinton lied under oath about having an affair but at the same time Gingrich was carrying on a 6 year affair himself, is NOW claiming that marriage vows are to be upheld but his track record stinks, has taken over millions of dollars from Fannie Mae who has bankrupt this country, states that black people should work as janitors and custodians and clean up behind white people, aaaannnnddddd has a temper. I am an independent but I would vote for Mitt or Ron Paul before I vote for Newt the destroyer. You republicans better wake up!

  • Guest1955 says:

He has said he made a mistake and has ask for forgiveness. He is still the best choice in my opinion. She was paid for her interview and like one of the others have commented….did we expect her to say nice things. Not hardly.

  • Guest2020 says:

If the first Speaker of the House to be sanctioned for ethical violations is the best choice then we are all going to hell in a hand basket.

  • guesty says:

Hmmm, his wife is sick and he has an affair. John Edwards? Just shows both political parties have scum.

  • dittos says:

Not caught?? Seriously?! We knew Obama was a socialist lib who was about taxing anything with legs….and still idiots voted him in.
