WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- CFCC President Eric McKeithan announced Thursday night at the Board of Trustees meeting that he will retire from the college as of July 1, 2012. He has been the president of CFCC since 1994.
McKeithan had previously announced his retirement in 2006. He decided to stay on after CFCC suspended their search for a new president, citing the fact that there were too many North Carolina schools looking for presidents and too few candidates left in the running at that time.
Spokesperson David Hardin says that the Board of Trustees will form a search committee in the next few months in order to find a new candidate.

Retirement well earned
Dr. McKeithan has given CFCC strong leadership. Expanded programs of study; new facilities; expansion into northern Pender County.
Let's hope his replacement is up to the task and leads as well.
