BOILING SPRING LAKES, NC (WWAY) — Boiling Spring Lakes is under the microscope after receiving a workplace violence complaint from the NC Department of Labor.
BSL City Manager Paul Sabiston says he got the complaint yesterday. The letter says, “A hostile working environment exists due to the verbal threats of physical harm and intimidation from management personnel.” Sabiston says he believes the complaint is from a former employee, and he is not too concerned.
“I think the complaint comes from a disgruntled former employee, and I’ve begun to research it, and so far I have found nothing that would amount to a hostile work environment in Boiling Spring Lakes either recently or the last two years,” Sabiston said.
Sabiston has a week to write back to the Department of Labor with his findings and the action he has taken to correct the situation.
