WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Spring is almost here, and many folks around the Cape Fear are ready to get in the garden.
This weekend marked the 19th annual Wilmington Garden Show. It’s an event about all things gardening, from how to’s for the beginner to seminars for the expert. People shopped for new plants, new ideas and decorations for their gardens. All proceeds from the show go toward programs and events at the New Hanover County Arboretum.
“Our garden show is usually one of the first things people come to when they start thinking about gardening for the spring,” show chair Melissa Hight said. “You can get lots of new ideas, see the newest things that are available, dress up their yard, get good advice. We’ve got the Master Gardener Plant Clinic here, answering all their questions. It’s just a one-stop shop for anything gardening.”
Hight said our climate is just perfect for gardening, and that’s why so many folks love it so much.
The Wilmington Garden Show continues Sunday at the Schwartz Center from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
