Single-engine plane crashes in Fayetteville, two injured

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (AP) -- Two people were injured when a small
airplane flipped multiple times at Fayetteville Regional Airport.

Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Holly Baker said the
incident occurred around 5:40 p.m. Friday. She said the
single-engine Mooney 20 landed at the airport and flipped several
times, ending up in the grass. Baker said the plane was destroyed.

Local authorities said the two passengers were taken to an area
hospital, but their conditions weren't immediately known.

Baker said the FAA would be investigating the crash.

The plane flew over my house

The plane flew over my house and it sounded as if it were sputtering or skipping. I have heard hundreds or thousands of planes fly over but this one just didn't sound right. The plane seemed to be traveling at a high rate of speed and was heading straight toward Fayetteville. I later told my Chief about it. Then a little later on the news there was said to be a plane crash at Fayetteville Airport. I live in Autryville, NC in the community of Clement.

Not a crash!

As anybody knows, who has ever flown airplanes for a living- Anything that you walk away from is not a crash.

It is an unplanned arrival.
