SOUTHEASTERN NC (WWAY) — A major storm system this weekend finally brought some much needed rain (up to 1") for our area. While parts of the Tar Heel state saw more snow than they’ve seen all winter, temperatures remained just warm enough to prevent any frozen precipitation in Southeastern North Carolina.
The Raleigh area saw anywhere from just a coating to upwards of an inch and one half of snow fall Sunday. Similar reports were common out of the Triad area in Winston-Salem and Greensboro. Farther north in Virginia, this turned into a full-blown snowstorm, especially in Richmond which saw up to 5 inches of snow.
Throughout the early morning hours today, just expect some light mist or drizzle with low clouds early. After that, sunny skies will return and it will simply be a chilly day across the area.
