HAMPSTEAD, NC (WWAY) — We already knew state Rep. Carolyn Justice would not seek another term in the state house. Now she says she will not run for any office in 2012.

Justice, who has spent ten years as the District 16 representative, says she feels others need the chance to fill her seat. The Republican from Hampstead says she will take a few years off and may run again if she feels fit.

“It’s been great,” Justice said. “It’s been very rewarding. I’m lucky. I’ve been very successful with the help of a lot of people. I think I did a lot of good things, a lot of good things left to do, but I believe it’s always time for new blood.”

Justice says she plans to stay very involved in politics and help campaign for Chris Millis, who is running for her seat.
