RALEIGH, NC (AP) — First lady Michelle Obama is planning to visit Raleigh and Charlotte to meet with military families, school children and to make remarks in advance of this summer’s Democratic National Convention in the Queen City.

The White House says Obama will be in North Carolina on Friday, arriving in Raleigh to meet active duty military personnel and their families. She’s also scheduled to address a Democratic National Committee reception.

Later that day, she’s slated to arrive in Charlotte to promote the “Let’s Move!” fitness program with children before the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association Tournament. She also plans to speak at two Democratic events.

North Carolina is a crucial state in President Barack Obama’s re-election strategy. Last week, Vice President Joe Biden visited Davidson County Community College.

Jobs are opening up. The employment rate is down.
Bin Liden is dead. Soldiers are coming home…
A lot of George Bush’s mess has been cleaned up…
Gas prices are always going up and down regardless of who is in office.
Looks like the USA is trying to get back on her feet.
    What’s your problem?

  • Watching Wilmington says:

I am thrilled to know that the First Lady Michelle Obama will be paying our beautiful state a visit.

Wake up with laughter and love on your mind. Hatred is a disease that will take you to an early grave!

  • Watching Wilmington says:

It is so good that you did barf a little…you are really full of it.
Barfing up some of that hatred is good for you!

  • guesty says:

    I think I just barfed a little.

  • Obysmal says:

WHOOPEE! Now we’ll have to *eat our peas* and get our knuckles whacked by the overbearing FLOTUS.

Is Ignorance and Hatred your first or middle name?

The residence of Wilmington, NC truly amazes me with their unlimited supply of hatred and ignorance. I know that Wilmington is considered to be a city, but it really does have a small town mentality.

This town should be voted the most hateful place to live in NC.

At least she is telling you to take meth or sending a message of hatred like the likes of you and others that smear up the internet with feces of hatred and guiltless remarks.

  • guesty says:

It wasn’t hatred I barfed, it was pure disgust that came out.

  • Watching Wilmington says:

Keep purging yourself, eventually that huge bile of hatred and ignorance will find its way out of your system.

Do you realize how great that you will feel once you give up those two companion spirits? Your life will be sweeter. Your countenance will change. You will smell better. The bitterness will leave. You might even get healed of some of those natural illnesses that you have been carrying around for years.

Give peace a chance. Hatred and Ignorance are works of the devil.

I bet that you claim to be a Christian and work hard in your church. Or worst yet, you claim to have a lot of black friends???

Barf it up, and let the sweet spirit of love and peace come in.

I’m sure all of these “Love Spreaders” and “guest of Peaces” weren’t skewering George Bush when he was in office. I’m sure they were spreading the love just like they’re trying to do now. /end sarcasm/ Thankfully the human baby Jesus is in office and they have a mortal to look up to like a kid looks up to a imaginary hero. You political fanatics are truly pathetic. Hopeless.

  • Watching Wilmington says:

I said the same thing when everyone was blaming Bush for the mess that the country was in. He didn’t do it by himself!

Most of all, I did not stoop low enough to attack his wife or his mother. That is stooping really low.

If you have a beef with our current president, then say so. Just don’t attack his wife and kids. You would not want anyone to do that to your family just because you were doing your job.

Wilmington is getting to be an ugly place!

  • SurfCityTom says:

what military installation is in Raleigh?

so if she is coming to meet with active duty personnel and family members, why is she not going to Fayetteville, Goldsboro, or Jacksonville?

There’s a fixed cost associated with the aircraft she uses, regardless of destination.

So why not go where the military members and families are located?

  • SMBeez says:

I do not personally know either the Prez or 1st Lady. So, I cannot comment on that aspect of their life. But, this is absolutely and completely the worst administration with the worst and ineffective policies. This man in no way deserves to be president.
This administration has created zero, I repeat zero permanent jobs. NOT ONE!!! Forcing people to buy insurance? Attempting to force wealth distibrution? Socialized medicine? Doing nothing, absolutely nothing to attempt to curb the rise in fuel prices. Actually implementing policies which create higher fuel prices. Extending unemployment benefits, stimulus money, more gov’t jobs? What a joke!! Someone who is continually paid to sit home, will continually do so!!!!! Gov’t jobs? Who pays for that? We do? I don’t know how you think these hacks have improved our country but, NO WAY!! NO HOW!! U B DREAMIN!!!!!

  • Guest2020 says:

I guess you haven’t heard about the child whose homemade lunch was taken away. It’s the nonsense being spewed by our first lady that led to that.

  • RSimmons says:

Just because you encounter a few loud mouths on the internet and in Walmart don’t assume all of us are a bunch of right-wing nuts. Wilmington is more liberal than many northern cities I have visited. You just have to hang with the right crowd.

  • Fortheshawties says:

It sounds like California is your kind of place, dear moondancer. Please pack your backpack and start hitch-hiking right now to avoid all of the “hate” and common sense. I40 is a straight shot, you will not be missed!! Man, the 60’s really fried some people’s brain synapses.

  • Guest2020 says:

The employment rate is still higher than when Bush left office. Gas prices are higher than when Bush left office and are projected to get higher than they were during Bush’s entire administration. The national debt is higher than when Bush left office. Obama promised more jobs, but we’re still out of work. He promised to cut the national debt. The only promise he kept was to raise gas prices.

As for your statement about gas prices. The liberals were constantly blaming Bush when the prices went up during his administration. What’s good for the goose is also good for the gander. If the gas prices then were Bush’s fault, then the gas prices now are Obama’s fault.

Soldiers are coming home? Are you kidding? Why are there troops still in Afghanistan? And the withdrawal of the troops in Iraq aren’t to Obama’s credit. That was done on a timeline that George Bush instituted.

Get your blinders off. Check facts for yourself instead of relying on the media to tell the truth.

  • Erlkoenig says:

Government jobs are opening up. Private sector jobs are being stifled by the Socialist regime. Evil will be allowed to foster and be subsidized by the Socialist regime. Gas price is affected by supply and demand and the regime is causing harm on both. The mooch is coming to NC to excite the freeloader class to vote.

  • Guest65 says:

NO BAMA! He has screwed this country up enough! I would only vote for him so he could finish what he started!

  • Gustafo says:

I don’t have a “beef” so much with a mere figure head or his wife so much as my utter disgust with these political zealots who thinks this man, or any politician for that matter, is the second coming of Christ. I said nothing about his family.

I lived in a town I really didn’t like before. I moved. If you have a “beef” with Wilmington, I hear I40 can take you to far away places.
