Man shoved in front of car during fight

CHARLOTTE, NC (AP) -- Authorities say a man was killed outside a Charlotte bar after he was shoved into the path of a car during a fight.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said the victim died before paramedics could arrive around 10:40 p.m. Saturday. Witnesses said a fight between two men inside Ed's Tavern spilled into the parking lot, and 23-year-old Kenan Gay shoved the other man into the road in front of a BMW.

Investigators say Gay has been charged with murder. It wasn't clear if he had a lawyer. The name of the man killed has not been released.

Police say the driver of the BMW called police after hitting the man and will not be charged,
