WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — North Carolina’s foundation is farming, and although the southern tradition has changed over the years, the love of the land remains.

The Cape Fear Farm Heritage Association is all about preserving the past and making history come alive. Saturday and Sunday, you can take a trip back in time at Southern Farm Days. You can experience farming like it used to be, complete with horses, antique tractors and equipment and much more.

“Today… everything is computerized,” CFFHA President Robert Mills said. “All the planters and the pickers, everything you can use today are computerized. It’s almost not like a job anymore. It’s just like a hobby.”

Southern Farm Days are this weekend at the Lake Waccamaw Boys and Girls Home. It’s old-fashioned fun for the whole family.
