WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — New Hanover County Commissioner Brian Berger got a break in court today.

Berger’s attorney, Sen. Thom Goolsby, says his client’s driving with license revoked citation was dismissed, and his speeding charge was reduced from 41 miles per hour to 34 in a 25 mile per hour zone. The charges stem from a January 5 traffic stop in Wilmington.

Meanwhile, Goolsby says he plans to appeal Berger’s January conviction for violating a domestic protection order.
