RALEIGH, NC (AP) — The North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles is preparing to introduce a new electronic system for renewing and issuing licenses with new features that include a laser-engraved 3-D photo of the driver.

Officials at the state agency also say their Next Generation Secure Driver License System being introduced early next year will reduce wait times for most transactions at DMV offices to less than 30 minutes. Current wait times average about 34 minutes.

The changes are part of a national push to introduce new security measures and decrease the possibility of identity theft. The new licenses to be issued to North Carolina’s more than 6.9 million drivers will also include machine-readable technology and backgrounds with variable colors and patterns officials say will
make the ID cards virtually impossible to counterfeit.

average wait time is really just 30-some minutes? I don’t believe it. The last few times I’ve gone I was turned away and the people who were there had all been waiting for at least 5 hours! My local DMV told us to wait in line at 6:30 am (an hour and a half before it opens) and if you get there after 11, you might as well give up.
I’ve lived in several places and I’ve never seen a dmv so disorganized. Get your stuff together North Carolina!

This is not about making dl’s counterfeit proof..is about the gov having a 3d pic of you so when you walk by any camera (ATM, airport, parking deck, gas station, city street, ect.) you will be identified by their wire frame facial recognition technology. They’ll know where you are/were at all times.

“They’ll know where you are/were at all times.” (End Quote)
Except for in my bathroom toilet at home!
Will the police have to wear 3D glasses if they stop you for a license check?

Mark of the Beast. Are you ready?

…with all of the village idiots posting their personal crap on Facebook. If you’re there, you already have a database with facial recognition software on you.

Gone are the days when people wanted “rights of privacy”. Now they post everything for the world to see with wanton disregard.

I hear you, and you know it’s fine. That’s their/our right to do that as ‘free’ Americans. And Facebook or whatever social site hasn’t made that technology a secret. But those picture people upload are shot from 1d cams, and they’re not that accurate. DMV’s cams will have multiple lenses to map your face..biometrics basically. And that ish will be dead on balls accurate. Me personally, not up to no good, so I’m not worried. I guess I was just trying to point out..that they’re trying to pass it off as a counterfeit countermeasure..and I was calling bs on it..that is all.
