CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) — Carolina Beach has a new fire chief. Alan Griffin will start April 23.

Griffin is currently Director of Emergency Services in Montgomery County as well as fire chief in Briscoe. He replaces Jonathan Rorie, who left last year to take a job in Georgia.

“I am looking forward to becoming part of the Town of Carolina Beach family,” Griffin said in a statement the town released. “My number one priority is to continue the high level of fire protection and prevention that the citizens and visitors to Carolina Beach have come to expect. This is a beautiful town, and I am excited about the move and becoming part of the Carolina Beach community.”
