CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) – For the sixth time, a North Carolina attorney has filed a lawsuit to block a minor-league baseball team from building a new stadium in downtown Charlotte.

The Charlotte Observer reports that attorney Jerry Reese’s newest lawsuit alleges Mecklenburg County officials failed to get financial information from the Charlotte Knights to help evaluate whether the team could afford to build a stadium.

Reese has unsuccessfully filed five other lawsuits to try to stop the stadium and other related downtown deals. He has said he doesn’t oppose a baseball stadium in downtown Charlotte, but instead calls for a major-league ballpark.

A statement from the team said it expects Reese’s latest lawsuit will be thrown out and to break ground on the new ballpark in October.

He must watch Field of Dreams everyday and believe the motto “if you build it they will come” So whos coming to Mr Reese?? Just curious since your demanding a major league park be built.. For what purpose the need to build a stadium 4X larger then what the Knights need is insane. Raleigh/Durham has a better shot of getting an MLB franchise then Charlotte strictly based on logistics and population. This guy is delusional to say the least and I hope this time the courts hold him in contempt for a frivolous lawsuit because thats what it was after the 2nd or 3rd time.. GIVE IT UP Mr Reese before somebody files a complaint with the NC Bar for your idiotic actions.
