WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Who doesn't love saving money? A new social retail site is going live Thursday in the Port City to help you do just that. LivingSocial helps you explore things like new restaurants and fun adventures all at a discounted price.

“I get all the emails from Raleigh and always see the deals and wish they had it in Wilmington,” says Devyn Schumacher, who moved to Wilmington from California.

The site is live in more than 600 markets and has more than 60-million viewers, according to its website. The best part, it's free and pretty easy to join. You just choose your city, type in your email and once you verify, you're all set. New daily-deals will be sent to your account everyday, including deep discounts from yoga classes to restaurants and all-things beauty.

“Manicures, pedicures, all the good stuff,” says Lindsey Adams, who lives in Wilmington and is excited to join LivingSocial. “The pampering is what I am most excited for.”

LivingSocial spokeswoman, Jody Gavin says there's a lot the company considers before entering a new market. In a statement she says: “We have consumers call, email and reach out via social media with suggestions on new markets we should enter. We also look at the types of businesses in a market. We want to be sure we're providing our members a nice mix of offers."

If you would rather have mobile access to the daily deals, there's also an app for that.
It's just another way for folks to discover what the port city has to offer.

“I think it will make me see a lot of new things in Wilmington,” Schumacher says. “The deals that they have on there are a lot of times half off at least so I think it will be a good way for people to explore new adventures.”

“I'm hoping that I’ll find new shops that I’ll go to,” Adams says. “I'm always looking for new local businesses to go to.”
