WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Cape Fear Community College’s president got a rude start to his day.

Wilmington Police arrested Norfleet Midyette Jr. after witnesses say he walked into President Eric McKeithan’s office and hit him multiple times with a pile of papers.

Police say Midyette was very upset, but he is not a student at CFCC.

Midyette is charged with assault and trespassing. He is in jail under a $400- secured bond.

    Oops! Cancel Christmas.

Did Mr. McKeithan know this “gentleman”?

Did “Norbert” just wake up, spoke with God, and look for a stranger to pop?

A few questions unanswered. And also a strange way to assault someone, a pile of papers.

Although he actually looks like the Captain of the reality series “Whale Wars”. Could be his twin brother from different mothers.

    Weird story.

I`ve known Fleet for many years, and know he has mental problems. When off his medication, there`s no telling what he might do.He comes from a very fine family and I`am sure their saddened by this incident.Don`t judge one`s family until you`ve been in their shoes.

When did they release Charles Manson?

This story made me LOL :-)

Fleet does come from a good, kind, nice family. He is actually a brilliant man, unfortunately he has mental health issues. Sadly, there is no means possible to step in and involuntarily make him comply with his treatment. Please don’t be cruel just because you can, sitting anonymously behind a computer. Think before you type.

It is our support system for the mentally ill that needs attention here, not this sad, misunderstood man. Fleet suffers from schizophrenia. When he is medicated, he is intelligent and well mannered. He comes from a wonderful, caring family who gave him a great childhood and wonderful education. He is brilliant. Unfortunately, like most schizophrenics, the disease has taken control of his life. There probably is no logical reason he attacked Dr. McKeithan. Why not do a story about ALL of the mentally ill in southeastern NC who have no where to go because of budget cuts by our lawmakers.

…when you name your kid, Norfleet? He’s been carrying that albatross around for all these years, and he takes it out on one of the nicest guys in the world.

That makes me sick! Dr Mckeithan is one of the most dearest, sweetest man I’ve EVER had the pleasure of knowing and working with. I hope there are charges being pressed. What is wrong with people?
