WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Students and staff at Cape Fear Community College put together a special tribute for retiring president Dr. Eric McKeithan today.

McKeithan got a flash mob. He says he was completely unaware of the plan and was thrilled to see everyone working so closely together.

He says he was truly touched by those who participated in the flash mob, and he could tell they put a lot of time and effort in to the event.

“We’ve got a great family of students, faculty and staff at CFCC,” McKeithan said. “I’ve been a part of them for the better part of 18 years now, so I just think that it’s just that sense of a good feeling that exists, where students are important to faculty staff and we all work as a team together.”

McKeithan is retiring this summer. This time he says it’s for good. He retired a few years ago, but agreed to stay on.
