WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Tomorrow you have the chance to spruce up your garden while supporting local students. Cape Fear Community College hosts its annual plant sale at the North Campus.

One-hundred percent of the proceeds go right back to educating students. The money raised makes it possible for them to get needed hands-on experience.

“Hopefully with the money we raise here we’ll have enough money to buy fertilizer, buy gas and get practical experience,” Landscape Gardening Instructor Ken Wells said.

The plant sale is from 8 a.m. until noon at the college’s Landscape Gardening Center off of Sidbury Road in Castle Hayne.

They have both, including tomatoes, cucumbers, salad greens. The landscape plants are mostly annuals, but there are a few perennials available.

Do they have landscape plants or vegetable plants, or both?

I’d love to buy some items and support them but like many I work during that small 4 hour time frame. Why in the world wouldn’t CFCC offer after work or Sat hours??

Drove all over the campus and saw no signs, asked 2 people where the horticulture center was they had no idea and 1 was a teacher. For people who aren’t familiar with the campus a few signs would have been a great idea. O’ well.
