Baby girl dies after car crashes into stroller

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) -- Investigators say a 16-month-old girl who was struck by a car as she was being pushed across a Winston-Salem street by her mother has died.

Authorities said Imani Scales suffered brain injuries in the Friday night wreck and died Monday at the hospital.

Family members say the girl's mother was also injured and has undergone surgery.

Police are still investigating the incident and no charges have been filed against the 22-year-old driver.

So sad:( I have a 17 month daughter and I couldn't even imagine something like this happening to her. My thoughts are with the family for sure.
