COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Students found a gun on a South Columbus High School bus this morning.

According to Columbus County Sheriff Chris Batten, four students were riding the bus near Tabor City, when one student told the bus driver that a gun was on a seat.

Deputies interviewed the students and are still trying to figure out who the gun belongs to.

Sheriff Batten says the bus was parked overnight in an area known for drug activity. He thinks someone could have walked on the bus and left it there.

It is still under investigation

SEE STUFF LIKE THIS IS WHAT TICKS ME OFF THEY LET MY KID GET RAPPED, THEY LET OTHERS KIDS GET RAPED AND BULLY AND THEY LET BUS DRIVERS LEAVE OUR BUSES IN UNSAFE PLACES WHERE A WEAPON MAKES IT WAY ONTO THE BUS. NOW WHAT IF ONE OF THEM KIDS HAD PICKED IT UP AND ACCIDENTALLY SHOT IT SOMEONE WOULD BE BURYING THEIR CHILD. THEY NEED TO REPLACE THE SUPERINTENDENT OF COLUMBUS COUNTY, AND START MAKING SOME CHANGES BIG CHANGES IN OUR SCHOOL SYSTEM. THIS IS JUST RIDICULOUS. BUSES SHOULD NOT BE DRIVEN HOME BY BUS DRIVERS THEY SHOULD BE RETURNED TO SCHOOL UNTIL NEEDED AGAIN. BATHROOMS SHOULD HAVE GUARDS, AND THE RAPIST AND BULLY’S SHOULD BE PUT IN THEIR OWN LITTLE BAD KID SCHOOLS AWAY FROM OUR INNOCENT CHILDREN TRYING TO GET THEIR EDUCATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why are school busses not locked when unattended? No telling what goes in inside them at night.
