Rev. Franklin Graham voices support of Amendment One

READ MORE:

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- The Rev. Franklin Graham has recorded a message supporting a proposed amendment to North Carolina's constitution that would limit traditional marriage as the only recognized domestic legal union in the state.

The pro-amendment Vote FOR Marriage NC released late Friday the audio message from Graham, the son of evangelist Billy Graham and head of the Samaritan's Purse organization in Boone.

Franklin Graham asks listeners to "take a stand on God's definition of marriage" between a man and a woman and vote for the amendment on the May 8 primary ballot. Anne Graham Lotz - Franklin Graham's sister - also has said she supports the amendment.

Many religious leaders also have spoken out against the amendment, saying it runs counter to Christian principles of justice and fairness and would harm children.

TV ad by Rev. Franklin on Amendment One

I am not surprised that Rev. Graham has gone on TV to urge people to vote yes for the amendment. He is so radical and does not live what the Bible and Jesus taught. It is clear in the words of Jesus that we should not judge and that only God can judge. The repercusions from this law will be everlasting and will definitely hurt our state. We already have a marriage definition on the books since the 1800s so why add another. To be a true Christian, Rev. Graham should have used the money he spent on TV adds to feed the poor and house the homeless in our state. What a waste of money. As for me,I use to be a supporter of the Graham Evangelistic Group but no more. I will never support them again due to their radical, non Christian actions.

I used to work there at the BGEA - and I feel pretty much identical as you do. Except one thing - I can't refer to him as "Reverend" Graham.

I wish all the little old ladies who have been donating their $5 and $10 checks to the organization for decades knew that he was now spending their money on political ads. Disgusting.

Donation

I am one who has donated those $5 and $10 checks over the years. He has my total blessing and support on using my money to run those ads in favor of supporting Amendment One.

It's only "disgusting" if you don't agree with him, apparently.
