WASHINGTON, DC (WWAY) — The Big Shots Washington, DC, Basketball Tournament is one of the nation’s premier basketball exposure events. On Sunday the Wilmington based 17 and under Flight 22 team captured the “Slam Blue” division title with a 66-61 win over the DC Metro Ballers. Over the weekend Flight 22 won all three games. It’s the fourth Big Shots title for Flight 22 in a three year period for head coach Nathan Faulk.
Dominique Wiggins and Pharoah McKever did an outstanding job on the glass in leading the Flight 22 squad in the paint. Wiggins averaged 8 points and 14 rebounds over the three game stretch. Drew Combs averaged 10 points and 9 assists, including 10 points in the title game. Combs ran the point for coach Nathan Faulk’s squad. Elijah Wilson averaged 19 points. Wilson earned MVP honors for his tremendous play. Rian Hollard averaged 10 points a game. Holland also hit five from behind the arc in Sunday’s title game in a 19 point effort. Matt Gilgo added 7 points on Sunday.

17 and under Flight 22 also won the Dillon Intimidator tourney two weeks ago.
Coincidentally two Wilmington teams went head to head in Rock Hill, SC on Sunday in a 16 and under basketball event. Flight 22 defeated Blizzard Athletics 76-54 in that encounter. Hoggard’s Trevor Singleton led the 16 and under Flight 22 team in scoring with 23 points in the Wilmington vs. Wilmington matchup.
