WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Prices at the pump continue to fall.

The Shell at Red Cross Street and N. 3rd Street in Wilmington was packed today, and they’re not even lowest prices in town. Drivers pulled in one after another to fill up for $3.65.

The national average for a gallon of gas is still $3.80. That’s down four cents from just a week ago.

We’ve found gas stations in Wilmington selling regular unleaded as low as $3.51 a gallon.

Gas was $3.53 at Go Gas on !7th, Why isn’t all the GO Gas’s the same price. Walmart Gas stations in Leland and Wilming are not even the same. Why is that? Anyone have answers to this. Gas is $3.75 in Leland and $3.53 in Wilmington. Same Company owns the stores.

It depends on what gas stations are near and what they prices are. I use to work at a gas station as a manager. I (or one of us) twice a day drive around to the other station that where near and take down there prices and put them in a computer. Then the people at the other end would take that info and change the prices at our pumps. Thats why they are never the name.

Being in different geographical ares, the supply and demand is different and the competition is different.

Everytime the gas drops 4 or 5 cents, I read articles on here about Long lines at the pmp. That’s what they want you to do . get the gas you need and don’t abuse a few cents factor. If everyone in the country just starts filling up more because gas is say 20 cents cheaper a gallon we will be right back where we started. Get the gas you need and don’t fill up. That will keep the demand low and the price to keep dropping.

I wish WWAY would do a story on GO Gas on how when people are pumping their gas, their handles on the gas pumps have a hard time stopping on exactly the right amount in what you wanted to pay ..I always end up going over two or three cents because the clicks on the handles are faulty and yeah that may not seem like a lot to some people but when you have all your gas pumps in many locations doing the same thing which I have complain about to the cashiers who informed me that they were getting new pumps which they did but not the handles themselves makes me wary that GO Gas is robbing people..those two/three cents add up for them if you look at the money they collect in gas..I I only want to pay for 20.00 in gas then it should be 20.00..dont make me pay for 20.03 because your gas handles are broken

the new management is horrendous..you always have to wait when you go in and pay..one person on the register and the other person with a dust mop cleaning off the candy. I miss the old regime with the songs playing and the friendly employees.

It’s all about $$$$$$. The Hess in Ogden on Market is $3.75 and the Hess at CBrd/Medical Ctr is 3.53 that’s huge difference. I live in Ogden & I drive across town in my little car to fill up.

Since gas consumption dropped due to higher prices…gas stations lower their prices and people flock like mad to make up for what gas companies lost with higher prices. The Emperors New Clothes! Google it!
