WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- You are probably used to seeing something on top of the Chick-fil-A at Oleander and Independence.
Friday the familiar cow was up there, but so was a New Hanover Sheriff’s Deputy. Deputies along with Wilmington fire fighters are on top of the popular chicken restaurant to raise money for Special Olympics.
This is an annual event and despite the warm weather, the deputies and patrons seem to enjoy the fundraiser.
Deputy Montjoy is up to the challenge.
“Last year we raised about four thousand dollars, this year we want to raise at least five thousand.”
The New Hanover County Sheriffs Deputies and Wilmington Fire Department were on top on the Chick-fil-A Friday and will be back Saturday from 8 am until 4 pm
