Should I bring my own gun? I just had the State Patrol pull me over and issue a warning for not wearing my seat belt…. correctly. The World is a better place now. Thanks. 175 more is just what we need. Can any of you tell we are 175 “short?” Hmmm…. me either.

Please stop begging for applicants. Job fairs and begging are an embarrassment to the uniformed members of the highway patrol. Take that money and give the men that love the highway patrol a decent cost of living raise. It’s been 5 years since the last one and even then health care premiums went up and took that from their hands. Quit begging these people to join the patrol because it’s hard to find people that want to move away from their home possibly over 100 miles to their duty station when they can work for their hometown police department for more money. There
are plenty of good people that have applied to the patrol in the last 15 years that were turned down because of no college or because they didn’t have the politics needed to get in the school. I guess people finally got fed up of being turned down especially when it takes almost a year to go through the applicant process. When you have to start digging in the barrel like this you hit the bottom of it quite often which leads to negative publicity and a tarnished image .
