PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) -- Republican Chris Millis took nearly 70 percent of the 4,885 votes cast in the race for North Carolina's 16th District House of Representatives seat. He beat fellow Republicans Tim Thomas and Jeff Howell.

Because no Democrats filed to run, Millis will not face a challenge in November and wins the 16th District seat.

The seat has been held by Rep. Carolyn Justice, who decided not to run for reelection.

I am not in his district,

I am not in his district, but when I first heard about him, I checked out his website. I would have voted for him, and I am glad he won it. I hope he wins in November.
