When I asked the question it was very early on and the Sable was not over head yet, and there was only 2 police cars and their lights were not on.

Sable had taken over the chase from the ground officers so it was on the scene first and all responding officers had their blue lights on.

I was afraid to walk my lab so I called dispatch and an officer just called me back and said they caught the guys.

I also live in the area where they are looking 1 block over from Country Haven Dr.
It’s a very sad day for our county when a person sees all this going on and you ask a police office what is going on and they say nothing and you have to get your info from the local news station. Thank goodness for WWAY. What about public safety? Did they forget
“Serve and Protect”.

Why didn’t the police officer just say that they are looking for someone and I should go inside and lock my doors???

Do you honestly need a police officer to tell you to go in and lock your door when you see all the police activity in your area?

Well, needless to say I wasn’t going to walk my lab, it was a no brainer they were looking for someone. Especially with the Sables spotlight shining all over my home.

I could almost see the pilot.

Police officers everywhere.

Dispatch was very nice when I called them and they said an officer would call me back, and one did not long after I called to say “don’t worry we caught the guys” YOU can walk you yellow lab now.

Are we really safe anymore with Wilmington becoming a drug traffing area?

Well they caught these guys but you almost know there is many more out there.

So your neighborhood is flooded with police officers and you can’t seem to figure out you need to stay in your home? Did you think the officers were there to play basketball, sell magazines or mow grass? I know, the officers should have stopped looking for the fugitive to make sure you were completely up to date on what was going on.

Did you forget how to take care of yourself and make adult decisions based upon your own observations?
Perhaps you mistook the officers for your babysitter.

In general, and I say in general because “some” cops may appear rude sometimes and I won’t argue that, BUT You have to realize you are not the only citizen asking questions while we are trying to stay focused on the matter at hand, if every cop were to stop and start answering EVERY citizens questions right smack in the middle of an incident , it can be very dangerous, not only for the police but for the citizens as well. We assume that the average ctizen is intelligent enough to realize we are looking for someone when SABLE is in the air and cops are searching in a specific area, it should be pretty obvious….also preety obvious that the subject were looking for was probably not up to anything good…That is exactly why we have a PR person or a supervisor that diseminates the information for us, so that we can focus on the matter at hand, hope that helps for the future.

Sad day when people won’t mind their own business.

They were protecting and serving, as you elegantly put it, by the show of force in your neighborhood.

Shouldn’t you be locking your doors anyways? Paranoia will destroy ya!

Remember, if you are not doing anything wrong, you have nothing to worry about.

FLIR is nice, but we can get that on a surplus AH-1W Cobra or AH-64 Apache….plus we’d have Hellfire missiles and a 20 or 30mm chin gun.

Shortening these chases will be safer for all innocent parties, and a Hellfire right through the moon-roof would end them immediately.

Now, I know that federal law restricts arming police helicopters, but perhaps if we told them to p*ss off and drop dead, we could proceed with this great idea.
