NC dad jumps into son's stolen truck, flags deputy

HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. (AP) - Authorities in Henderson County say a man jumped into the bed of his son's pickup truck as it was being stolen and flagged down a deputy, who arrested the two men in the cab.

The Times-News of Hendersonville reports that the Henderson County Sheriff's Office said deputies spotted the stolen truck as well as a man in the truck bed waving his hands and screaming for help Sunday night. Police stopped the truck and arrested the men inside.

The sheriff's office said 36-year-olds Robert Lamont Anderson and Ben Frank Hall both are charged with larceny of a motor vehicle. Anderson faces additional charges. It's not known if either man has an attorney.

Although he was hit by the truck while getting into the bed, the man refused medical treatment.
