GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) - Authorities in Greensboro say a man was killed after police chased his car and it crashed into a tree and went down an embankment.
The News & Record of Greensboro reports that police said two officers were responding to a call Wednesday morning when they noticed a car being driven in a careless and reckless manner.
A statement from police said the driver failed to stop at two red lights before driving erratically. The driver accelerated and sped away from the pursuing officers.
A patrol unit saw headlights just off West Market Street and discovered the car. Police say 37-year-old Zsarr McCoy was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said an investigation into the incident is continuing.
