WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — New Hanover Regional Medical Center is aiming to save lives by educating the community. The hospital is offering free CPR events, including one today at Wrightsville Beach.

“The more people that know how to do compressions and know how to do CPR, if somebody goes into cardiac arrest and there’s more people around that can help him and therefore the patient has a better chance of getting out of the hospital,” Wrightsville Beach Fire Department Capt. Robert Pugh said.

Training continues tomorrow and Friday at Hanover Center in Wilmington and Saturday back at Wrightsville Beach Park. The training runs each day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
