WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court has refused to hear an appeal challenging President Barack Obama’s US citizenship and his eligibility to serve as commander in chief.

Without comment, the high court on Monday refused to hear an appeal from Alan Keyes, Wiley Drake and Markham Robinson.

The 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals ruled the challengers did not have legal standing to file the lawsuit.

The US Constitution says only “a natural born citizen” may serve as president. The challengers allege that Obama, whose father was Kenyan, was born in that African country, rather than in Hawaii. They claim his Hawaii birth certificate is a forgery. Hawaii officials have repeatedly verified Obama’s citizenship.

Keyes and Drake ran against Obama on the American Independent Party ticket and Robinson serves as the party’s chairman.

While I do not approve of using churches as voting sites, this has nothing to do with separation of church and state. The issue of separation of church and state applies to keeping the state from imposing a specific religion on its citizens. Nothing of the sort was happening here.

While I did not vote for this President and I am very angry with our congress for neglecting the needs of this nation in their efforts to block and or refual to negotiate on bills before them, the fact of the matter is this man was duly elected by the majority. I wish Congress and the people of this nation could turn the energy they waste on anger and hate towards rebuilding our economy rather than fighting each other. It’s not the way I was raised and it was not the way most of us were raised. While we are busy fighting eachother, our nation’s economy is burning and no one seems to care. Beware people that other vulture nations like China are keeping a very close eye on us and our economy just waiting to pounce. Gett it tether people and work together to prevent our demise.

    D. you are very misinformed. Many have seen it in person, many more have seen it online, including myself. He did not spend millions to hide it….Do some research on the facts and stop letting your hate lead you to the lies.

  • D Price says:

hawaii has not ever verified obamas birth and his birth certificate has never been seen. a question all should ask themselves whether they believe obama is a citizen or not is why would he spend millions to start with to keep from proving he is a citizen? any reasonable person would think something is wrong with that approach by obama

  • D Price says:

obama fought to not show any proof he was a citizen and spent millions in doing so, does that make sense?

  • Guestyish says:
