OMAHA,NE (WWAY) -- On Monday Wilmington's Cari Blalock had a terrific day in the pool. The former New Hanover Wildcat and current UNC Tar Heel shaved seven seconds off her personal best in the women's 400 IM at the US Olympic Swimming Trials.
4 minutes, 48.10 seconds (15th place and 7 seconds better than her previous personal best time)
100 Butterfly (28th place)
Cari Blalock is scheduled to swim the 200 butterfly on Wednesday and the 200 IM on Thursday at the Olympic Trials.

EDENTON,NC (Steamers news release) - The Edenton Steamers (16-7) of the Coastal Plain League announce that their game tonight, Monday, June 25th against the Wilmington Sharks (14-11) has been cancelled due to severe thunderstorms and a tornado warning in the area.
There will be no make-up game scheduled for tonight’s rain-out due to the fact that the Sharks and Steamers do not face each other in Edenton again in the first half of the CPL season, which ends on Friday, June 29th.
The Steamers are back in action on Tuesday night at Historic Hicks Field welcoming in the Forest City Owls (17-6) for the first and only time this season. Wilmington will host Team USA on Tuesday at 7pm at Buck Hardee Field.
