DETROIT (WJBK) – Security cameras recorded the violent beating of a gas station clerk in Detroit.

Hamzah Nasser runs the BP at Schoolcraft and Greenfield on the city’s west side. He says a group of nine teenagers came into his store earlier this week taking items off the shelves and telling the clerk they ‘owned’ the station.

When Aali Williams, who was working at the time, came out from behind his bulletproof glass, he told the group to put the items back. That’s when he says as many as five teens began to punch and kick him repeatedly. And it was all caught on tape.

“When I saw this video, I was shocked that he’s still alive,” said Nasser.

Williams, who suffered minor injuries, was able to get away back behind the counter. But the assault didn’t end there. Williams says someone returned to the store a few hours later and fired shots at the bulletproof glass.

This crime is so despicable. I am not a racist, but agree that if the victim was a black man, there would be outrage and national publicity. I just don’t understand the mindset of people–no matter what your station in this life—right is right and wrong is wrong. How is it possible that 6 individuals have a total lack of human decency? Don’t tell me it is their circumstances, lack of jobs, lack of education, lack of money. I am tired of hearing excuses. There are plenty of less privileged youth who choose to overcome their circumstances and become good people. These thugs had the free will to make a choice, they chose to end a life.

Have you not notice the city is outrage the 6 individuals have been arrested. The community is waiting for there court dates.Justice will be serve. The majority of the excuses in this particular case is being made by the white community. These young men made a decision to rob Mr.liu and two decided to kill him. What we don’t see or want to see it didn’t matter to them, they made the decision to kill whomever deliver the food they were going to take a life.I don’t think you meant to say publicity.National coverage yes.I don’t know this for sure but had they not been caught or something fishy was going on it might be a greater outrage.Even if the outside communities around the world says nothing or a little, the people of Wilmington know that the WPD did there job and justice was done.
