WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — It’s the end of an era at Cape Fear Community College. President Eric McKeithan said goodbye today.

He heads off into retirement after nearly two decades on the job.

While McKeithan has officially ended his run as president, he says he will still be involved with the college’s honors society.

“Getting to know those individual students and getting to see the contributions they make to both the college and the community,” Dr. McKeithan said. “Not having that contact, I’ll miss that.”

An interim president steps in Monday. CFCC hopes to choose a new president in place before classes start in August.
