RALEIGH, NC (AP) — The head of North Carolina’s mental health division has been killed after his bicycle collided with a tractor trailer in Raleigh.

Police say 49-year-old Steven Jordan was riding his bike around 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday when he was hit by the truck. Jordan died at the scene.

He was the director of the Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Abuse Services for the Department of Health and Human Services.

Jordan had been at the agency since 2010. He previously worked with a private treatment provider for people with disabilities and youths with special needs.

Good News he made it to heaven. Bad news he was only authorized for three sessions. The real bad news is another bureaucrat will take his place to obliterate the Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Abuse Services.
