WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Wilmington man will spend up to 15 years in prison on a federal child pornography charge. He could have been sentenced to up to 40 years behind bars.

Earlier this year Matthew Bryan Warford, 21, pleaded guilty to transportation of child pornography. A judge also sentenced him to a lifetime of supervised release.

Investigators say on August 22, 2010, Warford transported images of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. They say Warford was arrested last year after a tip from the National Center for Missing Exploited Children that child pornography had been uploaded to Photobucket.com. Investigators tracked the IP address to Warford’s Wilmington home and learned he was a registered sex offender from a 2009 conviction.
