WILMINGTON, NC (STARNEWSONLINE) — According to STARNEWSONLINE the man charged in a murder outside a Wilmington convenience store was captured about noon Friday by the U.S. Marshals Service.

The Marshals Service tracked Terrell Robinson, 20, to a home at 210 W. Dunham St. in Elizabethtown, said Russ Fields, a deputy marshal with the Eastern North Carolina Violent Fugitive Task Force, which includes the Wilmington Police Department and N.C. Probation and Parole.

Robinson was wanted in the murder of 22-year-old David McPhatter, who was gunned down during a dispute at Ninth and Castle streets.

The marshals surrounded the house in Bladen County and at first another man came out, Fields said. The marshals repeatedly ordered Robinson to come out. Eventually, he surrendered and was arrested without incident, Fields said.

Authorities poured countless hours into the search.

“There have been a lot of haystacks to find this needle,” Fields said. “But we finally got him.”

Detectives have accused Robinson and a second man, Codey Guerrero, 20, of shooting McPhatter three times during a May 12 party outside the convenience store. Guerrero turned himself in days after the killing to face one count of first-degree murder.
